the joys of being an employee and fundraising for my papa

Hi guys, bit of a double blog in one today!
So firstly, I have been working for a certain retail company which starts with P and ends in K for about a year now. I probably work in the worst area of the shop which is indeed the CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK (dramatic DUN DUN DUN noise) and as you probably have already guessed, yes, it is terrible.

You get paid, to stand there, listen to shitty people moaning and returning shitty clothes that last for about two weeks. (if you're lucky)
I have plenty of ridiculous stories about ridiculous people who attempt to return things claiming they are 'faulty' or that they have 'worn out too quick' I mean for crying out loud you only paid £2.00 for it!

Anyhow, today has to be my favourite by far. This nice looking lady approached my desk explaining that she would like to exchange a few items because they didnt fit. As she started placing the items she was wanting to return onto my desk I realised she had boys boxers and brief sets, and for obvious reasons we cannot accept underwear back. As I started to explain this to the lady I saw this look of EVIL come across her face and almost instantly she began ranting and raving, swearing, chucking things onto my desk in rage. I tried to remain as professional as I possibly could while this lady was causing havoc, suddenly in a calmer manner she asked for a pair of scissors and of course I gave her a pair in fear of her kicking off again.
Now while I was putting her other returns through the till I couldnt help but notice that in the corner of my eye this lady was cutting up every single pair of underwear. After she had done she chucked them on top of my paperwork and said 'and thats so you cant put them back on to the shop floor like I know you will'

FIRSTLY, we weren't taking the items back off her because we had already told her we couldnt have them back, so for her to do that so we couldn't put them back out to sell is a bit ridiculous.
And SECONDLY, what sort of person goes mental about wasting money and then cuts up the items she was complaining about wasting money on?!

I was so taken aback by this woman I took myself round the back where luckily a manager was and explained to him the situation. As soon as she saw him she completely changed her tune and was as nice as pie to him. Strange how people seem to act in a disgusting way to young people but when they feel a higher presence they snap back.

Please tell me I am not the only person who has to deal with crazy customers!!

Now on a lighter note, I am fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society to help people like my papa who have to live with Dementia.
I will be doing a 10KM walk and I am aiming to raise £100.
If you would like to donate (which I would greatly appreciate) my fundraising page is

The british tag!

Hi guys, and welcome to my first official TAG blog post.
I very much hope you enjoy.

So I first saw this tag on BeautyCrush's Youtube channel, since then I have seen it all over youtube and blogs so... as I am british I decided to give it a jolly good go.

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? + How many sugars?
I don't usually drink too many cups of tea when I am at home but I do tend to drink more when visiting family. If I have a hot drink at home it is usually coffee. I'd say one cup of tea a day and I have one sugar!
2. Favourite part of your roast?

This question is so so difficult for me! Erm, if I had to pick just one it would have to be the gravy.
3. Favourite dunking biscuit?

EASY. Malted milk, the ones with little cows on them.
4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?

Whenever I think of britain I think of cobbled streets and villages, so it has to be visiting little villages and the seaside.
5. Favourite word?

DOODLESACK. It's an old english word for 'bagpipe'
6. Cockney rhyme slang?

Apples and pears?
7. Favourite sweet?

Jellybabies
8. What would your pub be called?

I don't know why, but it would have to be called 'Bobs Taps'
My dog is called BillyBob, so there we are.
9. No.1 British person?

THE QUEEN, she's so sweet, and lovely and she is the queen.
10. Favourite shop / restaurant?

Evolution and Nandos.
Now im not sure if either of them are british companies but they are by far my favourite.
11. What british song pops into your head?

A spice girls song or sclub song.
12. Marmite?

BLEURGH

getting back into the gym and healthy eating

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

ah, this is something I know I should have done a long while back but I just can't stop eating yummy food!!
Tomorrow is my starting day for healthy eating and excercise and im so eager to get back into it, it always makes me feel great. But I cant help but feel rather nervous, I admit, its been a long while since I have been to the gym. (even though I have been paying for it!)

The thought of myself, sweating, redfaced, out of breath and not having the freedom to eat anything I want is somehow not pleasent for myself to picture.
Everytime I make an extra special effort to eat healthy and visit the gym almost every day I find that the results I want are not visible for me to see as quickly as I would like which in turn puts me in a negative mindset and I give up. I DONT WANT TO GIVE UP.

This time I am serious, I want abs, I want a perky bottom and I want to feel brilliant about myself again.

Short blog, but I needed something to look back on.

Befores and afters shall be posted hopefully when progress starts to be made.
MAJOR THROWBACK BUT LOOK AT THAT FLAT TUMMY!

WISH ME LUCK

Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation REVIEW

 Hi there friends,

So I bought my tube of Stay Matte Foundation from a local Boots store in good faith, and it hasn't let me down yet.
When I went into the store my intention was to purchase the same old foundation I get every month or so, as I was browsing I came across this tube right at the bottom of the shelf. The packaging didn't stand out to me so its strange that I even noticed it, after I picked it up and started investigating it came to my attention that this was a mousse foundation.
I have never bought a foundation from a tube before and the only 'mousse' type foundation I have ever used is the Dream Matte Mousse. (everybody has had this) What stood out to me was the word 'lightweight' which was wrote on the front, now it was about 25 degrees that day and it really intrigued me!

The price was £5.99, a bit cheaper than my usual foundation even though they both contained the same amount in them.
When I got home I decided to squeeze some onto my hand, the texture was lovely. So smooth and soft, it blended so well and a little went a long long way. I couldn't wait for the next day to actually use this on my face!! Again, a little went a long way and I found myself blending this in with my fingers rather than a brush which was a lot easier although I think a beauty blender would work even better. The colour matched my skin perfectly, and it was definately light weight but with very very good coverage.

What I really like about this foundation is that you can build it up, if you have broke out and you find yourself needing more coverage than you would normally, just put a bit more on and it covers lovely.

The foundation definately gets rid of the shine of your face but makes your face look dewey. Some people do like this so if you do this would be everything you want! But for me, I like having a very matte face, so I apply the Rimmel Matte Face Powder over top and perfect!

If there are are foundations you guys recommend feel free to leave a comment and let me know, I love trying new things!

does teeth whitening work?

Hey hey hey,
so today I am going to be doing a kind of review/opening/start of a diary, blog post.

I got paid a couple of weeks ago and I have always wanted a teeth whitening kit, so rather than wasting my money on rubbish I have invested in one!
I was a bit cautious when buying this because of the risk of damaging my teeth, but I managed to find a Peroxide free gel.
I bought the Deluxe Home Whitening Kit from Smile Science for £129.

http://smile-science.co.uk/products/deluxe-home-whitening-kit.html
Link to the website

As you can see,  I recieved two mouth guards, two syringes of the non peroxide gel, a pre stain remover, a sponge and the blue light.

The packaging wasn't was I was expecting, the kit came in a bubble wrapped brown package in a big clear sealed bag. Now after paying over £100 I admit, I was expecting some fancy box and packaging.

I recieved an instruction manual in addition to the kit, this was a basic piece of paper although I do believe the instructions should have been a bit more in depth to ensure you're doing everything correctly. Again, something I had expected after spending over £100 is a pretty decent instruction manual.

I went on to use it the same day, following the instructions I had to place the mouth guards into boiling water and then place in my mouth to mould them to my teeth. To prep your teeth, place the sponge in the stain remover liquid and scrub your teeth. Then placing a small amount of the whitening gel into the front of each mouth guard put them into your mouth, turn on the light and put that in front of your teeth. You leave this for 15-20, then avoid food or drink for another 15 minutes.

I don't think this is the most comfortable thing to do but hey, who said it would be?
After the first time using this, I didnt see a massive difference. It's now been just under a week and I am pretty impressed.

Weekly blog posts will be available if you would like to keep updated, all opinons are honest and are my own.

my first tattoo

hi, hello, bonjour, *waves*

So today was a very exciting day for anybody, but for me it was also a very meaningful day.
My 81 year old papa has been diagnosed with an illness called Dementia for about a year now.

de·men·tia  (d-mnsh)n.
1. Deterioration of intellectual faculties, such as memory, concentration, and judgment, resulting from an organic disease or a disorder of the brain. It is sometimes accompanied by emotional disturbance and personality changes.
Naturally, this diagnosis has caused distress to myself and family. Rather than dwell on this situation I have decided to ensure I spend as much time with him and to gain more and more memories before sadly, he passes.
Before my papa was diagnosed with this awful disease I have pondering on the idea of having a tattoo, not exactly knowing what I want doing and just seeing things on Pinterest and saying 'I want that'
After a lot of thought, I decided for my first tattoo I wanted something with meaning, especially as it is such a life changing decision.
Charmaine, who has done multiple tattoos for my family was my first and only choice when deciding on a tattooist and we came together to design something beautiful for myself to have in my papas memory.
Now I dont know if this is just me, but do you have something that reminds you of each of your grandparents? Whether its the smell of peppermints or a certain song they used to play often, well my memory of my papa from very very young was his love for playing solitaire on the computer.
No, ive not had a game of solitaire tattooed on me dont worry, im not that mad. (or am I?)
Before I show you my beautiful tattoo, I am going to answer a few questions a lot of people will probably be eagerly wanting to ask.
Did it hurt?
The outline didn't hurt, it just felt uncomfortable. The shading hurt because she was having to go over and over parts of my skin that had swelled already. Trust me, if you want a tattoo go for it, dont listen to anyone who says 'ITS KILLS RERERERE' It completely depends on the place, on the type of tattoo etc. (its not that bad man up)
Will you get more?
Yes, yes, times 10000000.
What about when you get older?
I will have wrinkles AND a tattoo, and so will the majority of other older people.

JULY/AUGUST FAVES

hello hello hello, and welcome back to my blog.
Today, I am going to be sharing with you some of my favourite items from the months of July and August.

 LETS BEGIN

I am going to begin with my most favourite perfume in the entire galaxy, Thierry Mugler, Alien.
The scent is amazing, it lasts for days and the packaging is so so pretty. I dont believe this perfume is too pricey, especially for what it is and how long lasting the scent is.
This cost me £45.00 from Argos, (i dont usually buy perfume from there, random but well worth it purchase)
I always find my self explaining the scent to smell similar to parma violets... but better. And after looking at the packaging one of the ingredients is Violet!
Seriously, go into boots and ask to smell it, you will never go back to your old perfume!!!!

So, I have been ordering Avon recently and although the products arent all that amazing, I have found something I will be reordering.
This little bottle is an absolute god send! Just painted your nails? Need to go out? No problem.
Liquid freeze quick dry nail spray by avon is an instant nail polish dryer.
Now, when I ordered this I wasn't very optimistic thinking this would be another one of those products that claim to work wonders but I surprisingly I am impressed and yes it does work!!!

Okay, so I agree bit of a odd favourites to put in? But it is one of my favourite things to be doing at the moment! I walk in and within an hour im putting The Nightmare On Elm Street on.
Ive never really been a massive fan of it but very recently after my partner pestered me to put it on ive found myself going back to the box set to watch another! What can I say, I just cant get enough.

Oh hello, hair product time!!
So this is a leave in conditioning spray by Sexy Hair, I have had products by this company before and have always been impressed.
I recently pampered myself and went to a hair salon to get a hair cut instead of getting one of my friends to do it (major treat!) Anyhow, the hairstylist there didnt actually use any conditioner and just sprayed some conditioning spray into it and it was tangle free. Now because I have damaged hair I have always assumed that id have to use conditioner, but I always felt that it weighed my hair down. I havent used conditioner now for about two weeks and have used this after shampooing and toweldrying my hair and honestly, the difference is huge. My hair is voluminous and lovely and I am now anti conditioner!!!!!

I have loved experimenting with different eyeshadows recently and this palette has been amazing. Truth be told I havent used many of the most adventurous colours but have liked using the more day to day shades.
I won this palette off of ebay for about £5.00 I think, and in my opinion it was a bargain!! The colours arent mega mega pigmented but they are good enough to use. This will be brilliant for people similar to me who dont want to spend mega money but would like to have a go with eyeshadows! Very happy with this!

I have actually owned this for a long while but only recently started properly using it. I fell in love with this as soon as I used it, its perfect size for my handbag, the bristles are soft and it is water friendly.
I definately reccommend this especially for people with brittle hair because it is soft on the hair and doesnt cause any more damage!

Finding your sense of direction

Hi guys!
another blog post today, although I am straying away from hair and beauty tips and writing about something a lot more meaningful hopefully you shall still find it as interesting and enjoyable to read.

So, after leaving college in late July I have been pondering my life long decisions and dreams.
I love, love, love hairdressing and practicing nail acrylic but feel like my life should be going differently to what it is.
I am finding it so difficult to build up a client base and shortly after setting up a business page, deciding on a name and getting business logos designed I get a message from a lady informing me we have the same business name. (GUTTED) As she has already claimed it, I now have to think of a new one, which for me is pretty difficult. This has set me back with regards to promoting my business and advertising which in turn prevents me from getting clients, getting money etc etc.

Rather than feeling too negative about this situation I can only think that this is a positive thing, I feel like all these negative outcomes are to make me realise that there is a lot more in store for me than what I have in my life at present. I like to believe that big things are in the stars for me and cant help but find this comforting in my time of distress.

A lot of my old school friends have gone through their A Levels, they have got in to University and seem to have a very straight path to what they want to do in life and I cant help but feel jealous
I have never really had an exact plan in life when it regards to work, but know I would almost definately love to go to University. I feel like I have only wasted my studying years and regret this massively.

But then when I sit here and think to myself, there is so so much I would love to do.
Animal work,
Care work,
Forensic Scientist,
Solicitor,
Flight Attendent...
I honestly could go on and on, and each one seems equally as interesting and enticing.

But is it too late for me now? Can I still attend University? Can I still get my dream job?

AM I THE ONLY ONE?

How to get longer hair QUICKER

Now now now,
this is the question EVERYBODY wants to know the answer to.
Well today is you're lucky day because I am going to share with you some of my top tips to growing long, healthy hair and quickly, although some of them you may know I am still putting them in here because they work!!

TRIMS EVERY 6-8 WEEKS
Yes I know, it seems silly telling someone who is growing their hair to cut it. But trust me, if you have split ends you need to get them off before you can start growing your hair. Either cut your split ends off and let your hair grow healthy or have your hair snap off and then be wondering why it isn't growing...
Once you get all the ends cut off you may not need to visit the hairdressers as often (as long as you look after it) but still make sure you're going to maintain your healthy hair.

NO HEAT
Now I know this is a lot to ask of a girl especially if your hair is as wild as mine freshly washed! Think of it this way, no heat, no split ends, no need to trim your hair... You're hair will grow in no time!! If you're going somewhere important and you really need to tame your hair with a straightener, then go ahead but make sure you're using a really good heat protector and putting the temperature on low, otherwise you're just going to keep going round in a vicious cycle.

BALANCED HEALTHY EATING
You are what you eat, thats what they say. You want healthy hair? You need to make sure you're eating balanced and healthy foods to ensure your hair is as strong and healthy as possible. Your scalp needs all sorts of vitamins like vitamin C, Folate, Zinc and Biotin. The only way to make sure you're getting all of these is to make sure your diet is balanced.
You could even take Vitamins and Supplements to make sure your body is getting the best, I use Holland & Barrett Vitamins for the Hair Caplets.

COCONUT OIL
Meet your new bestfriend, coconut has SOOOO many beneficial factors when it comes to your hair. It is an amazing conditioner and helps with the regrowth of damaged hair, it also helps keep your scalp dandruff free and free from headlice. If you massage the oil into your scalp a couple of hours before you wash your hair it helps to nourish the scalp. I love coconut oil so so so much and I highly recommend it.

SPACE OUT YOUR WASHES
Try to wash your hair 2-3 times a week, this may seem gross to some of you but to let your hair produce its natural oils is so good for your hair. If you need to, invest in some dry shampoo, I use Batiste dry shampoo.
When you do wash your hair it is a good idea to use some sort of hair mask at least once a week to give your hair a really deep condition. This will help to smooth your hair cuticles and leave your hair looking smooth instead of frizzy meaning you wont have to use heat as often! Win win situation!

DONT BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT IS WET
This is when your hair is most vulnerable, your hair stretches when it is wet and if your hair is damaged it wont stretch as much as healthy hair and just snap. This can cause more split ends, try and let your hair air dry before you brush it. When you do brush your hair make sure you are brushing it with care, start from the tips and proceed upwards carefully until it is tangle free. If you are tugging your hair you can be pulling it out and splitting your hair. If you have really tangled hair, try spraying some conditioning spray in it to make it easier to brush through it.

TIE YOUR HAIR UP WITH A SCRUNCHIE FOR BED
While you sleep your causing knots in your hair and probably causing split ends, I like to tie my hair up with a scrunchie before bed. A scrunchie is less harsh on your hair than a regular hair tie, and would probably be better for tying your hair up on a day to day basis. Just because the hair tie can be really tight and cause tension on your hair causing it to break.

EGG WHITE HAIR MASK
And finally, my favourite homemade hair mask. Using two eggs seperate the egg yolk from the white and place into a bowl, add some olive oil and cover your hair. Leave on for about half an hour and woila! beautiful hair once more. Eggs have protein in it which helps to strengthen your hair and restore your damaged hair!! (Raw eggs give off a funny smell after a while, but don't worry its normal!)

And thats the end of my top tips for longer hair quicker, I hoped these helped and gave you some good ideas to help grow your hair!!

How to get beautiful voluminous hair

Have you ever sat flicking through a magazine looking at celebrity's beautiful looking bouncy hair wishing yours looked the same? If you have, I suggest you keep reading to discover my top tips at getting that voluminous bouncy hair we all crave!

------------------------------------------------------------------

To start with you need to get a good shampoo and conditioner, I recommend VO5 Plump it up shampoo and conditioner. These are brilliant because they remove dirt from your hair but are lightweight so it wont weigh down your hair giving you lovely bouncy locks!

After you have shampooed and conditioned your hair, I suggest combing through your hair with your fingers and then rubbing your roots, I also like to flip my hair upside down and rub my scalp to give texture and volume. Then wrap it up in a towel and let your hair air dry for about ten to fifteen minutes.

After your hair has semi dried, take it out of the towel and apply mousse all over, then take some VO5 plump it up amplifying blow dry lotion, part your hair and spray in the roots all over the head. To get the best volume I like to flip my head upside down and blow dry the roots first, whilst I am doing this I am constantly rubbing my scalp to get as much texture into them as possible! Once your roots are dry you can flip your hair back and start to concentrate on the rest of your hair making sure it is completely dry!
When your hair is dry do not brush it until your hair has completely cooled! This will make sure that the volume in your hair lasts as long as possible.

To get the most volume out of your hair, after you blow dry you can choose to use hot rollers to lift the root even more. I like to use the Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Rollers because they are extremely versatile, you can use them to create curls and volume. For volume I tend to use the bigger rollers, wait for them to fully heat up and then take a section from the top part of your hair, hold it at 90 degrees and wrap the ends of your hair around the roller carefully rolling until all of your hair is wrapped in and secure with a clip. If you do this to the top section of your head you will get that extra bounciness.

Take some Batiste Dry Shampoo and spray it into your roots and rub to give even more volume, finish off with a some hairspray, try not to touch your hair until the hairspray sets.

I hope that these tips helped and now even you can have voluminous bouncy beautiful hair!!!

How to look after your human hair extensions!!

On this post I am going to share with you a few tips and tricks to take care of your hair extensions so as to prolong their life and keep them looking healthy and shiny!
There are lots of types of hair extension applications, some permanent, some semi permanent and some that are just temporarily put in every day.
Pre bonded, Micro beads, Micro weft, Clip ins, Weaves...
I could go on...
Whatever type you choose to have, you're going to want to make sure you can get the most out of the hair you have! Lets get started,
so step one

BRUSH, BRUSH, BRUSH
So first things first, when caring for your extensions this should be as important as brushing your teeth in the morning. Brushing your hair regularly is to help to upkeep your extensions and to keep them looking smooth and sleek. To do this right (and yes there is a right and wrong to brushing hair) firstly, you need to make sure you're using the right tools. Brushes with soft bristles is best, these wont cause the hair extensions to break and split and cause frizz, I recommend L'oreal's Tangle Teezer, you can buy this from your local Boots store and isn't just brilliant for your extensions its really beneficial to your own hair too! And secondly, BE GENTLE, treat your extensions like your own hair! Start to de tangle on the ends progressing further to the top sections to prevent the hair from tangling more and frizzing.

Step two

WASH, WASH, WASH
Now your hair extensions wont get as dirty as your own hair so it isn't essential to wash them as often as your own hair, but to maintain the health of your extensions it is important to make sure you ARE washing them.
Now there are essential steps to take when your wash your extensions, before you do anything you must de tangle your hair (refer to step one). After you have ensured all knots are out of your hair extensions you should wet your extensions bit by bit to prevent tangling, try to have a wide toothed comb on hand to use if knots occur. Finally, make sure you are using a good shampoo! Moisture shampoos are brilliant for extensions because it keeps the hair soft, my personal favourite is Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo, when applying the shampoo do not scrub, smooth it over the hair. If you scrub you will cause the hair to frizz!

Step three

CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION
And finally one of the most important steps is to make sure you are regularly conditioning your hair extensions, after you have shampooed the hair use a good hair mask! I use OSMO Intensive Deep Repair Mask, leave it on long enough to do its magic then wash it off making sure to keep de tangling with your wide toothed comb. Using spray in conditioners is just as important as using your regular conditioners, try to use this a couple of times daily to give your hair that extra moisture. Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance is a really good leave in conditioner, it isn't costly and smells amazing! Try not to over do it with your hair products on your extensions as this can cause the hair to look dull and limp, make the hair get dirty at a faster rate and could cause extra tangles!

After washing your hair, try to leave the extensions to dry naturally! Anything that means applying less heat to your extensions is always a good thing. Create hairstyles which mean using heated styling equipment less, or if you need to use your straighteners or curling tongs then make sure you're using a good heat protector.

If you are wearing clip in hair extensions, when you take them out make sure you are storing them correctly! You do not want to come to use your hair again and find it in a frizzy ball of hair, brush and tangles out, spray  some leave in conditioner on them and store in a clear tidy space with a loose bobble around them to keep them neat and together.
If your hair extensions are permanent and cant be removed before sleep you can always sweep them back into a low ponytail, this will keep them out the way and prevent getting major bobble kink marks in the morning which can occur when placing your hair in high ponytails. Start with the same process as clip in extensions, de tangling and using spray leave in conditioner before placing in your low ponytail.

I hope these few tips on how to care for your extensions was helpful for newbies or even long time hair extension wearers.
