the joys of being an employee and fundraising for my papa

Hi guys, bit of a double blog in one today!
So firstly, I have been working for a certain retail company which starts with P and ends in K for about a year now. I probably work in the worst area of the shop which is indeed the CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK (dramatic DUN DUN DUN noise) and as you probably have already guessed, yes, it is terrible.

You get paid, to stand there, listen to shitty people moaning and returning shitty clothes that last for about two weeks. (if you're lucky)
I have plenty of ridiculous stories about ridiculous people who attempt to return things claiming they are 'faulty' or that they have 'worn out too quick' I mean for crying out loud you only paid £2.00 for it!

Anyhow, today has to be my favourite by far. This nice looking lady approached my desk explaining that she would like to exchange a few items because they didnt fit. As she started placing the items she was wanting to return onto my desk I realised she had boys boxers and brief sets, and for obvious reasons we cannot accept underwear back. As I started to explain this to the lady I saw this look of EVIL come across her face and almost instantly she began ranting and raving, swearing, chucking things onto my desk in rage. I tried to remain as professional as I possibly could while this lady was causing havoc, suddenly in a calmer manner she asked for a pair of scissors and of course I gave her a pair in fear of her kicking off again.
Now while I was putting her other returns through the till I couldnt help but notice that in the corner of my eye this lady was cutting up every single pair of underwear. After she had done she chucked them on top of my paperwork and said 'and thats so you cant put them back on to the shop floor like I know you will'

FIRSTLY, we weren't taking the items back off her because we had already told her we couldnt have them back, so for her to do that so we couldn't put them back out to sell is a bit ridiculous.
And SECONDLY, what sort of person goes mental about wasting money and then cuts up the items she was complaining about wasting money on?!

I was so taken aback by this woman I took myself round the back where luckily a manager was and explained to him the situation. As soon as she saw him she completely changed her tune and was as nice as pie to him. Strange how people seem to act in a disgusting way to young people but when they feel a higher presence they snap back.

Please tell me I am not the only person who has to deal with crazy customers!!

Now on a lighter note, I am fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society to help people like my papa who have to live with Dementia.
I will be doing a 10KM walk and I am aiming to raise £100.
If you would like to donate (which I would greatly appreciate) my fundraising page is

The british tag!

Hi guys, and welcome to my first official TAG blog post.
I very much hope you enjoy.

So I first saw this tag on BeautyCrush's Youtube channel, since then I have seen it all over youtube and blogs so... as I am british I decided to give it a jolly good go.

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? + How many sugars?
I don't usually drink too many cups of tea when I am at home but I do tend to drink more when visiting family. If I have a hot drink at home it is usually coffee. I'd say one cup of tea a day and I have one sugar!
2. Favourite part of your roast?

This question is so so difficult for me! Erm, if I had to pick just one it would have to be the gravy.
3. Favourite dunking biscuit?

EASY. Malted milk, the ones with little cows on them.
4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?

Whenever I think of britain I think of cobbled streets and villages, so it has to be visiting little villages and the seaside.
5. Favourite word?

DOODLESACK. It's an old english word for 'bagpipe'
6. Cockney rhyme slang?

Apples and pears?
7. Favourite sweet?

Jellybabies
8. What would your pub be called?

I don't know why, but it would have to be called 'Bobs Taps'
My dog is called BillyBob, so there we are.
9. No.1 British person?

THE QUEEN, she's so sweet, and lovely and she is the queen.
10. Favourite shop / restaurant?

Evolution and Nandos.
Now im not sure if either of them are british companies but they are by far my favourite.
11. What british song pops into your head?

A spice girls song or sclub song.
12. Marmite?

BLEURGH

getting back into the gym and healthy eating

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

ah, this is something I know I should have done a long while back but I just can't stop eating yummy food!!
Tomorrow is my starting day for healthy eating and excercise and im so eager to get back into it, it always makes me feel great. But I cant help but feel rather nervous, I admit, its been a long while since I have been to the gym. (even though I have been paying for it!)

The thought of myself, sweating, redfaced, out of breath and not having the freedom to eat anything I want is somehow not pleasent for myself to picture.
Everytime I make an extra special effort to eat healthy and visit the gym almost every day I find that the results I want are not visible for me to see as quickly as I would like which in turn puts me in a negative mindset and I give up. I DONT WANT TO GIVE UP.

This time I am serious, I want abs, I want a perky bottom and I want to feel brilliant about myself again.

Short blog, but I needed something to look back on.

Befores and afters shall be posted hopefully when progress starts to be made.
MAJOR THROWBACK BUT LOOK AT THAT FLAT TUMMY!

WISH ME LUCK

Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation REVIEW

 Hi there friends,

So I bought my tube of Stay Matte Foundation from a local Boots store in good faith, and it hasn't let me down yet.
When I went into the store my intention was to purchase the same old foundation I get every month or so, as I was browsing I came across this tube right at the bottom of the shelf. The packaging didn't stand out to me so its strange that I even noticed it, after I picked it up and started investigating it came to my attention that this was a mousse foundation.
I have never bought a foundation from a tube before and the only 'mousse' type foundation I have ever used is the Dream Matte Mousse. (everybody has had this) What stood out to me was the word 'lightweight' which was wrote on the front, now it was about 25 degrees that day and it really intrigued me!

The price was £5.99, a bit cheaper than my usual foundation even though they both contained the same amount in them.
When I got home I decided to squeeze some onto my hand, the texture was lovely. So smooth and soft, it blended so well and a little went a long long way. I couldn't wait for the next day to actually use this on my face!! Again, a little went a long way and I found myself blending this in with my fingers rather than a brush which was a lot easier although I think a beauty blender would work even better. The colour matched my skin perfectly, and it was definately light weight but with very very good coverage.

What I really like about this foundation is that you can build it up, if you have broke out and you find yourself needing more coverage than you would normally, just put a bit more on and it covers lovely.

The foundation definately gets rid of the shine of your face but makes your face look dewey. Some people do like this so if you do this would be everything you want! But for me, I like having a very matte face, so I apply the Rimmel Matte Face Powder over top and perfect!

If there are are foundations you guys recommend feel free to leave a comment and let me know, I love trying new things!

does teeth whitening work?

Hey hey hey,
so today I am going to be doing a kind of review/opening/start of a diary, blog post.

I got paid a couple of weeks ago and I have always wanted a teeth whitening kit, so rather than wasting my money on rubbish I have invested in one!
I was a bit cautious when buying this because of the risk of damaging my teeth, but I managed to find a Peroxide free gel.
I bought the Deluxe Home Whitening Kit from Smile Science for £129.

http://smile-science.co.uk/products/deluxe-home-whitening-kit.html
Link to the website

As you can see,  I recieved two mouth guards, two syringes of the non peroxide gel, a pre stain remover, a sponge and the blue light.

The packaging wasn't was I was expecting, the kit came in a bubble wrapped brown package in a big clear sealed bag. Now after paying over £100 I admit, I was expecting some fancy box and packaging.

I recieved an instruction manual in addition to the kit, this was a basic piece of paper although I do believe the instructions should have been a bit more in depth to ensure you're doing everything correctly. Again, something I had expected after spending over £100 is a pretty decent instruction manual.

I went on to use it the same day, following the instructions I had to place the mouth guards into boiling water and then place in my mouth to mould them to my teeth. To prep your teeth, place the sponge in the stain remover liquid and scrub your teeth. Then placing a small amount of the whitening gel into the front of each mouth guard put them into your mouth, turn on the light and put that in front of your teeth. You leave this for 15-20, then avoid food or drink for another 15 minutes.

I don't think this is the most comfortable thing to do but hey, who said it would be?
After the first time using this, I didnt see a massive difference. It's now been just under a week and I am pretty impressed.

Weekly blog posts will be available if you would like to keep updated, all opinons are honest and are my own.

my first tattoo

hi, hello, bonjour, *waves*

So today was a very exciting day for anybody, but for me it was also a very meaningful day.
My 81 year old papa has been diagnosed with an illness called Dementia for about a year now.

de·men·tia  (d-mnsh)n.
1. Deterioration of intellectual faculties, such as memory, concentration, and judgment, resulting from an organic disease or a disorder of the brain. It is sometimes accompanied by emotional disturbance and personality changes.
Naturally, this diagnosis has caused distress to myself and family. Rather than dwell on this situation I have decided to ensure I spend as much time with him and to gain more and more memories before sadly, he passes.
Before my papa was diagnosed with this awful disease I have pondering on the idea of having a tattoo, not exactly knowing what I want doing and just seeing things on Pinterest and saying 'I want that'
After a lot of thought, I decided for my first tattoo I wanted something with meaning, especially as it is such a life changing decision.
Charmaine, who has done multiple tattoos for my family was my first and only choice when deciding on a tattooist and we came together to design something beautiful for myself to have in my papas memory.
Now I dont know if this is just me, but do you have something that reminds you of each of your grandparents? Whether its the smell of peppermints or a certain song they used to play often, well my memory of my papa from very very young was his love for playing solitaire on the computer.
No, ive not had a game of solitaire tattooed on me dont worry, im not that mad. (or am I?)
Before I show you my beautiful tattoo, I am going to answer a few questions a lot of people will probably be eagerly wanting to ask.
Did it hurt?
The outline didn't hurt, it just felt uncomfortable. The shading hurt because she was having to go over and over parts of my skin that had swelled already. Trust me, if you want a tattoo go for it, dont listen to anyone who says 'ITS KILLS RERERERE' It completely depends on the place, on the type of tattoo etc. (its not that bad man up)
Will you get more?
Yes, yes, times 10000000.
What about when you get older?
I will have wrinkles AND a tattoo, and so will the majority of other older people.

JULY/AUGUST FAVES

hello hello hello, and welcome back to my blog.
Today, I am going to be sharing with you some of my favourite items from the months of July and August.

 LETS BEGIN

I am going to begin with my most favourite perfume in the entire galaxy, Thierry Mugler, Alien.
The scent is amazing, it lasts for days and the packaging is so so pretty. I dont believe this perfume is too pricey, especially for what it is and how long lasting the scent is.
This cost me £45.00 from Argos, (i dont usually buy perfume from there, random but well worth it purchase)
I always find my self explaining the scent to smell similar to parma violets... but better. And after looking at the packaging one of the ingredients is Violet!
Seriously, go into boots and ask to smell it, you will never go back to your old perfume!!!!

So, I have been ordering Avon recently and although the products arent all that amazing, I have found something I will be reordering.
This little bottle is an absolute god send! Just painted your nails? Need to go out? No problem.
Liquid freeze quick dry nail spray by avon is an instant nail polish dryer.
Now, when I ordered this I wasn't very optimistic thinking this would be another one of those products that claim to work wonders but I surprisingly I am impressed and yes it does work!!!

Okay, so I agree bit of a odd favourites to put in? But it is one of my favourite things to be doing at the moment! I walk in and within an hour im putting The Nightmare On Elm Street on.
Ive never really been a massive fan of it but very recently after my partner pestered me to put it on ive found myself going back to the box set to watch another! What can I say, I just cant get enough.

Oh hello, hair product time!!
So this is a leave in conditioning spray by Sexy Hair, I have had products by this company before and have always been impressed.
I recently pampered myself and went to a hair salon to get a hair cut instead of getting one of my friends to do it (major treat!) Anyhow, the hairstylist there didnt actually use any conditioner and just sprayed some conditioning spray into it and it was tangle free. Now because I have damaged hair I have always assumed that id have to use conditioner, but I always felt that it weighed my hair down. I havent used conditioner now for about two weeks and have used this after shampooing and toweldrying my hair and honestly, the difference is huge. My hair is voluminous and lovely and I am now anti conditioner!!!!!

I have loved experimenting with different eyeshadows recently and this palette has been amazing. Truth be told I havent used many of the most adventurous colours but have liked using the more day to day shades.
I won this palette off of ebay for about £5.00 I think, and in my opinion it was a bargain!! The colours arent mega mega pigmented but they are good enough to use. This will be brilliant for people similar to me who dont want to spend mega money but would like to have a go with eyeshadows! Very happy with this!

I have actually owned this for a long while but only recently started properly using it. I fell in love with this as soon as I used it, its perfect size for my handbag, the bristles are soft and it is water friendly.
I definately reccommend this especially for people with brittle hair because it is soft on the hair and doesnt cause any more damage!
